This mosque is one of the most religious edifices in Egypt. People come to see this piece of art for both religious reasons and to admire the architecture. The overall design has an Ottoman-style where the roof is intricately covered with beautifully designed mosaic.
There are ancient styled lanterns and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling that adds to the beauty of the place. The dome is about 52 meters high with two of the minarets as high as 84 meters, looming tall in the city.
The Citadel is located at a height so visitors get a panoramic view of the city. Tourists can also see the Police museum that lies close to the mosque.
