Giza pyramid complex

One of the last remaining world wonders of the ancient world, the pyramids have been braving weather, time and conditions for over 4000 years. These massive tombs are an awe-inspiring tribute to the world of ancient Egypt.

Pyramid of Cheops also called the Greta Pyramid or the Pyramid of Khufu. It is the largest of the four and has a plain tomb chamber with an empty sarcophagus. Next is the Pyramid of Chephren also called the Pyramid of Khefre. It has an internal tunnel area to enter it and the smaller one is called Pyramid of Mycerinus or Pyramid of Menkaure.

Guarding these pyramids is the lion-bodied and pharaoh-faced Sphinx, which is another iconic monument from the ancient world. The pyramid complex sprawls over 13 kilometers of the city and is the most visited site in Egypt.
